The British Council will be holding a breakfast roundtable to discuss the importance of English language testing in the areas of recruitment and training and development in various industries and organisations all over the world. Case studies and best practices will be highlighted along with their stories of scale and impact. Participants from various industries will be given an opportunity to explore these global and regional examples and identify plausible examples for localisation and adaptation.

The event is co-presented by: the Investors in People Philippines, IT & Business Process Association of the Philippines and Q2HR Solutions.

About the Speaker

David Akast joined the British Council in 2014 and works as the Manager of BC Tests in East Asia.  Based in Hong Kong, his role involves frequent travel across 12 countries to support a range of government, education and corporate sector partners deliver effective assessment solutions.  He is a member of British Council's Regional Exams Leadership Team and has a remit to represent and support the entire British Council Philippines Exams business.  David worked in mainland China from 2002 to 2010 and studied Mandarin in Jinan, Shandong after completing his studies at the London School of Economics (LSE).
