De La Salle University (DLSU) and Liverpool Hope University (LHU) are developing dual master’s programmes that partner LHU’s MSc in Computer Science programme with various MSc programmes from DLSU’s College of Computer Studies, College of Engineering, College of Science and College of Business. Slated to be available in 2018, these jointly-delivered programmes aim to produce graduates with a deep understanding of the importance of computational expertise as it applies to various fields of human endeavour. Students would be immersed in a word-class educational experience that combines what UK and the Philippines can collectively offer one that is attractive, intellectually-stimulating and culturally-enriching.
MSc in Data Science / MSc in Data Engineering
In an era of “big data” explosion that demands a dramatic and paradigmatic change in how we mine and process various kinds of data, the MSc in Data Science and MSc in Data Engineering dual degrees of De La Salle University and Liverpool Hope University train students that have a holistic appreciation of the various aspects and levels of big data science and engineering. These inherently multi-disciplinary programmes guarantee a wide-ranging curriculum that seamlessly combines theory with hands-on training, and allows students an opportunity to participate in top-of-the-line yet socially-relevant research.
MSc in Robotics Engineering
Recent revolutionary advances in Robotics and Artificial Intelligence have produced robots that are more reactive, intelligent, and human-like, and have significantly expanded the relevance and application of robots in various domains. Thus, the dual master’s programmes of De La Salle University and Liverpool Hope University, expected to commence by 2018, offer curricula that allow students to critically understand the technical complexities of robotics technology, while simultaneously situate the use of such technology for the benefit of the human society.
MSc in Sport and Exercise Nutrition
The advents of K-12 and changes in lifestyle of Filipinos have bolstered the need for a graduate course focusing on Sports and Exercise Nutrition. Graduates of this programme have lots of possible career paths (e.g., K-12 sports track and physical education teachers; athletics, training, and fitness coaches; sportswear and equipment design; sports management; etc). A dual masters programme that partners the various MSc programmes of DLSU with the Liverpool Hope University (LHU) MSc in Sports and Exercise Nutrition will be offered this 2018. The partnership between DLSU and LHU provides a solid theoretical foundation that optimizes the transfer of knowledge between scientists and practitioners. Topics include the interrelation between nutrition, physical activity and exercise in enhancement of sport performance, health and wellbeing, and prevention of disease/injury. The management and business track of this dual MSc opens options of going into business and management positions.
