Step 1: Make a video to share on your social media channels
*All videos must be submitted on 30 September, 23:59 GMT +8. Record a video (max 2 minutes) answering these 3 questions:
- What is your IELTS success story and what does it mean to you personally and professionally?
- What were the biggest challenges you faced during your IELTS journey? How did you overcome them?
- Can you share your preparation process? How did the British Council help you succeed?

Step 2: Post It Publicly
Upload your video to Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, or YouTube with all three hashtags:
#IELTSPrize2025
#IELTSJourney
#BritishCouncilIELTS
*Make sure your post is set to PUBLIC so we can view it!
Step 3: Complete the Application Form
Fill out the online form with your personal details and IELTS test reference number . Answer two short essay questions at 150 words maximum each.
- What specific challenges or needs will this fund/grant help you address, and why is it important for you to receive support at this time?
- Why did you choose to take IELTS with British Council?
Don't forget to paste the URL link to your video in the form!
Who can join the IELTS Prize
- Open to citizens and residents of the Philippines, Indonesia, and Myanmar
- Must be 16 years or older (minors require parental consent
- Must have taken IELTS or IELTS for UKVI (Academic or General Training) with British Council between 1 January – 15 September 2025
- Minimum band score: Overall 4, with no section below 4 – individual score should be no lesser than Band 4.0

Selection Criteria
Phase 1: Selection of Top 10 Finalists (1 June to 30 September)

Phase 2: Selection of Top 5 Winners (9 to 15 October 2025) |
Inspiration: 40% Public Engagement: 30% *1 post reaction (like, comment, share) = 1 point Logic and Organisation: 30% |
Rewarding Process
- Prizes are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.
- Cash prizes will be awarded in local currency, based on British Council’s prevailing exchange rates. Prizes may be subject to applicable local taxes.
- The PHP 75,000 grand prize will be transferred via bank-to-bank transfer to each winner’s personal bank account.
- If a winner does not have a personal account or prefers the funds to be sent to a friend or family member’s account, they must submit a third-party authorization form with required supporting documents to the British Council.
- The PHP 7,500 gift vouchers will be sent to the registered email address of the 5 finalists.
Prize Redemption:
After announcement of winners and when all the documents have been provided by the winners, the process of payment will be starting within 30-45 days only after taking the test at IELTS.

Terms and conditions
- All videos must be submitted on 30 September, 23:59 GMT +8 in Phase I.
- Participants must adhere to the campaign rules and timelines. (Participants under 18 years of age must have parental consent that is attached on application form)
- Participants can take either full IELTS or IELTS for UKVI test, Academic or General Training, either on computer or paper. Life Skills test and One skill retake test are not included.
- Winners from previous campaigns with cash prizes, or equivalent, from any British Council programme since 2023 (IELTS Prize, Women in Stem, IELTS Champ, Going Global partnership, etc.) will NOT BE ELIGIBLE.
- British Council employees are not allowed to apply for the British Council IELTS Prize 2025.
- Videos must be original and comply with British Council guidelines.
- Inappropriate content or failure to meet criteria will result in disqualification.
- Any attempts to manipulate engagement metrics (e.g., fake likes or shares) will lead to immediate disqualification.
- Prizes will be in local currency equivalent based on British Council exchange rates. Prizes be subject to local taxes if applicable.
- 5 grand prize money will make Bank To Bank Transfer to winners’ bank accounts. If winner does not have own bank account or transfer prize money to friends/relatives or families account, they shall provide relevant third-party authorization consent to British Council.
- The British Council reserves the right to amend or cancel the programme or change the arrangements, schedules, plans or other items directly or indirectly related to the programme, at any time and for any reason as it deems necessary.
- If a participant is found or suspected of any fraudulent activity, he/she will be disqualified.
- The decision of the Organizing Committee is final. Any disputes, complaints, or questions about the decision of the Organizing Committee are invalid.
- In case of disputes, the decision of the British Council shall be final.
