Hybrid Creative Economy Training programme (Upcoming 2026)

ASEAN-UK Festival Management Training (June-July 2025)
This four-week immersive course is designed to meet the needs of the Southeast Asian festival sector. It aims to support new and existing festivals in the region and address the skills gaps in festival management. The course places particular emphasis on audience development, innovative business modelling, sponsorship and marketing, sustainability, leadership, and digital transformation of festivals. The programme will bring together guest speakers from the UK and across the Southeast Asia region.
This comprehensive suite of workshops covers essential aspects of festival management—from programming, artistic development, logistics, and project management to marketing, budgeting, finance, and risk management. The interactive sessions include lecture, workshop, debate, discussion, and breakout room activities, supplemented by group discussions, activities, guest speaker presentations, and panel discussions.
Edinburgh Napier University and Jogja Festivals deliver the ASEAN-UK Festival Management training as part of the ASEAN-UK Advancing Creative Economy programme.
UK Music Festivals Delegation (2024)
Through the UK Delegation Programme, selected ASEAN festival professionals had a chance to experience the management and operations of UK festivals. They joined delegations to the UK, engaged in immersive learning activities, and fostered meaningful connections with their UK counterparts. This exchange of ideas and best practices enriched festival experiences in both regions.
The programme was a curated visit to attend UK music festivals, FOCUS Wales in Wrexham, Wales, and The Great Escape in Brighton, alongside a series of meetings in London with key UK music festival organisations.
