About the research

‘The Creative Turn in the Sciences’ is a research that explores possible collaborations between the arts and sciences in the Philippines. It studies the potential contribution of science to the creative economy of the country.

Diego Maranan

Diego Silang Maranan (Quezon City, Philippines)

Diego Silang Maranan is a transdisciplinary artist, educator and researcher who investigates how technology can help us reimagine relationships with the environment, with other people, and with ourselves. In 2017, he finished his doctoral degree in Art and Media as a Marie Curie Fellow at the University of Plymouth.  

Currently, he is the co-founder of the multi-sectoral collective Space Ecologies Art and Design (SEAD) and consultancy firm Curiosity Design Research.  

Diego was also one of the mentors from our Creative Innovators Programme and an Assistant Professor at the University of the Philippines Open University
