"The UK is truly one of the most exciting and productive places in the world for research, creativity and innovation. Researchers in the UK gain more citations and usage per article, and write more articles individually, than anywhere else in the world." (Discovery, creativity and innovation in the UK)

The British Council's Newton Fund programme offers a range of opportunities for PhD candidates, early career researchers, as well as collaboration support for academic groups, departments and institutions.

We have opened our Researcher Links Travel Grants to Master’s-level researchers in the Philippines!

We encourage you to apply if you:

  • have a Master’s degree and practical experience (including research)  closely related to the research topic and at an equivalent level to a PhD, over a number of years;
  • have a publication track record, specifically 3 published articles or a book.
