Your IELTS test results – when and how to get your score

To make a request to forward your IELTS test results/scores to TruMerit (formerly CGFNS) via free electronic dispatch, please complete the steps below. 

1. Log in to your account through the  Test Taker Portal
2. Select ‘Your results & tests’
3. Select your exam
4. Select ‘Results’
5. Select ‘Choose organisations’
6. Under Choose a country / territory, select ‘United States of America’
7. Under Choose an organisation, select ‘TruMerit’
8. Enter Name of Person / Department (optional)
9. Enter File / case number (i.e. TruMerit/CGFNS ID Number) [DO NOT SKIP this step]
10. Click Add organisation

The Passing English Score Requirement in your TrueMerit account should be reflected as ‘Submitted’ three (3) business/working days after the request has been logged in your account on the portal. If the status is still ‘Waiting for Initial Documentation’, please send us an email so we can re-send your results/scores.

Physical TRFs may only be sent to registered Recognising Organisations. 

If your organisation is not registered as a recognising organisation, please ask the organisation or institution to register at ielts.org/recognising-ielts. ​

The test centre does not normally supply paper Test report Forms.

If a Recognising Organisation makes it a requirement to receive a paper Test Report Form directly from IELTS, please submit a request to britishcouncil@britishcouncil.org.ph  and provide evidence of this requirement e.g. an email from the organisation or relevant website reference. At their discretion, the test centre will then decide whether to send a paper version of the Test Report Form to the nominated recognising organisation.

If the test centre approves, you will be asked to fill out this link  and pay the applicable courier fee. The courier fees are Php1,400 for each international address and Php250 for each local embassy.

We will then send the TRF directly to the institution. Please note that an additional Test Report Form takes around 10 days to be processed.

In the form, you will be directed to a payment page. Kindly pay using PhP (not another foreign currency). Following are the payment options available: 

Option 1: Paydollar. Click this if you are paying via VISA or Mastercard credit or debit card.

Option 2: Dragonpay. Use this when paying via these options:

Please ensure that we receive the exact fee. You will need to shoulder other bank charges that you might incur for the bank transaction.

Please fill out the complete information for the recipient address. If any of the information is missing, we cannot possibly create a waybill for a particular request which will cause delay in the shipment.

Please ensure the file size is not more than 3MB for us to receive the documents online. Please also be reminded to completely fill out the blanks. Please note that a request form with incomplete details may cause a delay in the processing of your request. Your request will only be processed if approved by the test centre.

 

 

You can only have one personal copy. If you have lost or damaged your personal copy, please contact us.

We can issue up to two personal copies of your IELTS result. The first copy will be issued on the release date while the second copy needs to be requested from us. To make a request, fill out the request form and pay Php 250 via bank deposit for the administration fee. If the second copy will be sent to an international address, the administration fee is Php 1,400. Processing time is 5 working days from the receipt of the request.

If you want us to send another paper copy of your TRF to a recognising organisation in addition to the five free copies we provide, you will need to pay Php 1,400 per copy to send to international destinations and Php 250 for local embassies via courier. We offer free electronic sending to CGFNS and selected universities and institutions. Please send the list of your requiring universities by email to britishcouncil@britishcouncil.org.ph in order to verify if they are subscribed to our free electronic service.

Request additional copies

If your test centre has been closed, you can order additional test report forms from ielts.org.

Please note that an additional IELTS Test Report Form takes around 10 days to be processed. Remember to fill in the blanks in the form completely and accurately to ensure smooth and timely processing of your request.

 

You will be awarded an IELTS band score from 0-9 for each test section, which reflects your proficiency in English.

Your TRF shows a score for each of the four skills (IELTS Listening, IELTS Reading, IELTS Writing and IELTS Speaking score), as well as an overall band score. You can score whole band scores (for example 5.0, 6.0, 7.0) or half band scores (e.g. 5.5, 6.5, 7.5) in each section of the test.

Organisations will usually not accept your IELTS test results if they are more than two years old unless you provide evidence that you have actively maintained or tried to improve your English since taking the test. The IELTS Partners cannot confirm the validity of test results that are more than two years old.

 

If you did not receive the score you expected, you can apply for your test to be re-marked.

This is called an Enquiry on Results (EOR). You can choose which test sections you want to be re-marked and will need to request this through the test centre where you took your test. You need to apply for a re-marking no later than six weeks after the test date.

IELTS on Computer, IELTS for UKVI on Computer:

You can submit and pay for an Enquiry on Results online from the Test Taker Portal.

IELTS for UKVI Life Skills:

If you have taken an IELTS for UKVI Life Skills test and would like to apply for an Enquiry on Results, you can submit and pay for an Enquiry on Results here.

The fee for this service is:

• PHP 5,250 for IELTS on Computer, IELTS for UKVI on Computer and Lifeskills

The Enquiry on Results fee will be refunded if your score is increased for any section of the test.

The outcome of an Enquiry on Results can become available on the same day as your application and up to 21 days after your application. The time it takes depends on several factors, including the number of sections you have asked us to re-mark. If you have not received a response after 21 days, please contact your test centre.

It is not possible to have qualitative feedback on the test or see the test.

There are no restrictions on re-taking IELTS. You can book a test as soon as you feel you are ready to do so.

Please note that your IELTS score is unlikely to increase unless you make a significant effort to improve your English before re-taking the test. Visit the preparation section to take an IELTS practice test and assess your English proficiency level.
